Anne flops herself on Rebekah’s bed. “I’m hungry”,
she says with a long sigh. Rebekah responds by nodding her head towards the
kitchen. “Taco bell and Chinese on the counter”, she says. “But I’ve been
doing so well, you know I can’t eat any of that junk”, she retorts pouting.
Rebekah scoffs and grabs her keys. “Fine”,
she says in defeat, rolling her eyes. “We’ll go to Panera, then stop by the
Farmer’s Market.” “And the Sister of the Year Award goes to…” Anne announces blissfully,
as she follows Rebekah out the door.
The End =)

Scene
I >
The night was a rested well and the atmosphere was cool, a breeze,
calm. You turn on your side to face the window, waiting patiently for a beam
of light to slowly peak into the room and to feel the warmth on your face and
–
“GET UP! GET UP! CALL MOM!! CALL MOM “
You jump out of bed in a panic, look over to the clock 5:57 am. Your
eyes are foggy and your head is spinning, as you look over to your closet. You
reach over to the down and swiftly turn on the light. You try to focus your
eyes to your sister but you see red dots on the floor, you see various colors
and dots. You take a seat on the bed and slowly look over to the closet.
“What the HELL STORME!”
“.. you needa get mom”, her voice was cold, lost and frightened.
Your heart was pounding so hard that you didn't recognized the silent
sound of your surroundings. A distant whimper, crying. As you get your focus your sight,
you turn your head over to you see your sister’s back faced to you and behind
the closet door you see a trail, a trail of blood right to what seems to have
been your brother, but half his face was covered with blood. Bloody floor. Bloody hands. Bloody face. Bloody brother.
“Where’s the dog?”

The Jokes on You
BEEP BEEEP BEEEEP. Damn, that's the alarm. You
wake up late AGAIN, knowing that you shouldn’t have because with report cards
right around the corner, Mr. Lawset, the attendance lieutenant will have your
head.
“Goldsworthy, you’re a
senior now, you should know that every lateness will result lower for your
final grade.”
You know this and yet you still stayed up last
night on Netflix saying, “one more episode” to yourself and before you knew it
it was 3:47am. Now it’s 8:46am and you can’t find your keys. Where your other
boot? You wore it yesterday and kicked it off by the … Kitchen! There it is.
You hop into one boot while the other sit right underneath your heel, half way
in. You grab your backpack and head for the door knowing that you have a gut
feeling that you forgot something extremely important. As you make it to
school, it’s second period – perfect. You grab a late pass from the main office
and take an alternate route to your locker. As you make your way, you make a
left at the Music Wing stopping by the piano room to trade homework with Alison
for Mrs. Turnit’s economics class, she never has all of the answers. So, you
take a picture on your phone instead and hope that Fran from AP Lit will be
here today to give you the rest. AP LIT! Crap, now you remember, today's presentations on Othello are due today and you definitely left your flash drive
at home right next to the cherry blossom perfume that you sprayed on yourself before
leaving. Rushing out of the Music Wing you go ahead to the Senior Café, awesome
breakfast if still being served. You say your greetings to Barb as she gives
you the usual, bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant not a roll because you just
don’t do rolls. As you make your way to AP Lit the bell rings and sworm of
students fill the halls. You manage to make it up the stairs and pass the
library and in one swift motion you bang your locker open. As you grab your
materials for the rest of the day a folded paper falls out to the floor. When you
unfold it’s an invitation to your father wedding and within that one a memoir
paper of your grandmother’s passing. You take a moment and breathe. Wondering
how long will it take your mother to come home when events like this spring up.
You should call her –no! Shake it off, you need to get to class. When you make
it to room 218, everyone is seated and the room is silent. You look to see the
bookworm, Sam Cambody handing out thick stapled stacks of papers to every row.
Where’s Mrs. Stickson? You sit down looking confused, Fran informs you that
there’s a pop test and that the Stick has stepped out for a couple of minutes. Pop
test? Who gives out a pop test? As you skip the directions and take the test,
you try to think about what you know, and what you don’t and then you remember
that you have testing anxiety. Your hands get sweaty and soon enough you start
to hate the smell of the perfume to sprayed on this morning. The questions get
more and more unfamiliar and you notice everyone leaving class at an unusually
quick pace. When you finally decided that you’ll fail anyways you guess the
rest of the 46 questions and fill the bubbles away. As you leave the class you
catch up with Fran and decide to bring up how hard the test was.
“What test?” she says
like she doesn't understand “Oh that test!” she exclaims “Didn't you read the
plan? The Directions stated that once you wrote your name and the date you didn't have to take the test, April 1st? April Fools? Don’t you get it?”
she asks.
